U.S. Census Bureau taking applications in Marshall County

Every ten years the U.S. Census Bureau conducts the nationwide census.  The results of the census determine not only how many seats each state will have in Congress, but also the amount of federal funding that is allocated to all communities.  Right now, they are recruiting thousands of workers for temporary jobs throughout the country in advance of the 2020 Census.  They are needing people in Marshall County to apply!  The 2020 Census Jobs website (2020census.gov/jobs) allows you to apply for a range of positions including recruiting assistants, office operations supervisors, clerks, census field supervisors, and census takers by completing a single application online!  The jobs will offer great pay, flexible work hours, and paid training.  For example, census takers in Marshall County will make $14 per hour plus mileage, and will be paid weekly.

Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen that is at least 18 years of age, have a valid social security number, and have a valid email address.  Males born after December 31, 1959 will also need to have proof of registration with Selective Service.  Anyone in Marshall County that would like to apply, but does not have access to a computer or smartphone, can go to any of the three Marshall County Public Libraries in Benton, Hardin, or Calvert City where public access to computers are available.  Census positions provide a perfect opportunity for seniors, students, part-time workers, seasonal workers, musicians, artists, and volunteers to earn extra income while helping their community.  It can also be good bridge employment for someone who is between jobs.  If you have any questions, you can call 1-855-JOB-2020 and select option 3.
