Shirley J. Emmons, 85, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 4:38 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Gaither Suites at West Park in Paducah.
Mrs. Emmons was a member of Olivet Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and taught the Before and After Preschool program. She was a housewife and an Election Day volunteer.
Mrs. Emmons is survived by her husband of 65 years Edsel Lin Emmons; a daughter, Linda Kay Felean and husband Chico of Covington, LA; a son, Keith E. Emmons and wife Lisa of Paducah; four grandchildren, Jason Felean, Sam Felean, Sarah Emmons and Timothy Emmons; one great granddaughter, Lyla Grace Felean; a sister, Reva McClain of Cape Girardeau, MO; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Virginia Wood, Dorris Arnzen, Norma Wood, Betty Masterson and Patricia Dietz; three brothers, Paul Wood, Lenard Wood and Tom Wood. Her parents were Thomas and Dona Elizabeth Evans Wood.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Harl Ray Lewis and Rev. Larry Lewis officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour of 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, MO.
