Daytime Closures on KY 1943 in Lyon County starting Tuesday, March 26th

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans several daytime closures of KY 1943 in LYON County starting Tuesday, March 26, 2019.

KY 1943 will be closed during daylight hours to allow several cross drains to be replaced between Tuesday and Thursday.  The crew will start with a cross drain at milepoint 3.4 near the Skinframe Creek Bridge and work eastward toward the US 641 end.

The roadway is expected to close at approximately 8:00 a.m., each day, after the morning school bus run.  KY 1943 is expected to reopen to traffic around 3:00 p.m., each day.

The Lyon County Highway Maintenance Crew anticipates being able to replace about 5 cross drains by the end of work on Thursday, March 28th.

There will be no marked detour.  However, access will be maintained from each end of KY 1943.

This cross drain replacement project is in anticipation of a paving project along this section of KY 1943 sometime during the summer paving season.
