
The Leadership Marshall County group headed out to Frankfort, KY on Feb 14 to meet with local county and state level representatives. They attended the County Officials Legislative Reception on Thursday evening where they met with several of our reps from Marshall County. They even got to bump elbows with Governor Matthew Bevin.
On Friday, Feb 15th, the group headed over to tour the State Capitol Building where they were able to meet with Representative Chris Freeland and Senator Danny Carroll. They were also given an opportunity to sit in on a couple different Legislative sessions while there.
For any that are unaware of what the Leadership Marshall County program is, it is ran by the Kentucky Lakes Chamber of Commerce and is an educational program designed to develop the present and future leadership potential existing in our community. It brings together individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience, who have a demonstrated talent and commitment for leadership. It is the goal of Leadership Marshall County to develop a source of informed, civic-oriented, volunteer leaders who are interested in helping direct the future growth and development of Marshall County.
