Cheryl Dowdy Pennebaker Leidecker age 70, of Kevil, KY passed away at 10:11 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at her home. Cheryl was a member of Massac United Methodist Church and attended Lovelaceville United Methodist Church for many years. She served as church pianist and Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a 1966 graduate of Heath High School and Murray State University where she received a degree in education. Cheryl retired from Ballard County School System where she taught… elementary and served as Homebound teacher for many years. Cheryl enjoyed gardening, dancing, horses, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Ashley Pennebaker and wife, Jessica of Kevil, KY and Lyndell Pennebaker and Kristyn Speer of Kevil, KY; her father, John Henry Dowdy of Paducah, KY; two brothers, Randy Dowdy and wife, Debra, Kevil, KY and Tony Dowdy of Kevil, KY; daughter-in-law, Colleen Pennebaker, of Kevil, KY; eight grandchildren, Ross, Elizabeth, John, Jacob, Matthew, Emily, Byron and Mckayla Pennebaker all of Kevil, KY; several neices, nephews, and cousins.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Pennebaker, second husband, Jim Leidecker; one son, Micah Pennebaker; mother, Bettisue Moore Dowdy.
Services will be held Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Revs. John Smithmier and Vida McClure officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Gage, KY. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
