The Country Club area in Benton has been a favorite Trick or Treat stop of locals for many years and 2018 was no exception. Residents of the Merrywood, Wood Trace, Bent Creek and Emerald Hills subdivisions typically see an average of 400-500 trick or treaters. The attendance doubled this year due to the fact that the City of Benton was the only town in Marshall County to change their festivities to Tuesday due to the forecasted rain and weather for Halloween on Wednesday.
Hosts in these subdivisions averaged between 800-1000 trick or treaters. These numbers do not include parents and guardians accompanying the children. Houses passed out between 1,000-2,000 pieces of candy at each stop until they ran out.
