Motorists traveling US 62 through 5 Western Kentucky counties on Tuesday afternoon should be alert for a caravan escorting the Vietnam Wall That Heals as it travels from Princeton to the Carson Park Fairgrounds in Paducah. The traveling replica of the Vietnam War Memorial honors those whose lives were lost during the war.
This caravan traveling westbound along US 62 starting from Princeton around 1:00 p.m., CDT, will create some minor traffic delays as it passes through intersections along the route through Caldwell, Lyon, Livingston, Marshall and McCracken County.
This caravan will have an escort that will include Kentucky State Police, as well as other police and emergency agencies.
Motorists who wish to watch the caravan at points along the route should find observation points with ample parking, and avoid parking along highway right of way.
Motorists should be alert for local law enforcment personnel and KY Transportation personnel assisting with traffic control at various intersectioins along the route.
Appropriate caution is required where emergency personnel are along the roadway and stationed at intersetions in close proximity to traffic flow.
