The Lady Marshals last win over Ballard Memorial came in the 2016 season so Thursday’s win in four sets over the Lady Bombers was a nice way to kick off their first home game of the season and improve to 2-1. Marshall County took the first set 25-20 and the second 25-23, both very competitive back and forth play from both squads.
They dropped the third set 25-18 but rallied in the fourth with their largest win margin of 25-14 for the 3-1 win. Clara Bradley was a big contributor in the win with 27 assists while defensively McKenzie Elkins led with 21 digs followed by 15 each from Jessica Hicks and Halle Langhi. Langhi led in kills with 18 while Hicks added 14. Emily Colley led in service aces with six and Langhi had four.
The team will travel to Owensboro for the Summer Smack Down at Apollo with games on Friday and Saturday.
