Marshals win first home, district contest 7-0 over Mayfield

Daniel Gardner scored the Marshals first goal just three minutes into their first home game and first district game of the 2018 season. Five minutes later, a bounce off the Mayfield goalie found the foot of Seth Janis who knocked it in for the Marshals second goal of the game.

Nearly 25 minutes passed before the third goal of the game came from Bryson Penn which was the start of three quick goals in the final six minutes of the half, the fourth from Chase Riley on a penalty kick inside the box and the fifth goal from Penn for his second of the half.

Penn scored his third goal and his third consecutive hat trick just under 22 minutes into the second half with the final goal coming from Gardner from 40 yards out for the 7-0 win.

The Marshals are 3-0 and will head to Lexington Saturday for two games against Lexington Christian and Scott County.
