FRANKFORT, Ky. (August 16, 2018) — Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton will launch the 2019 Lt. Governor’s Entrepreneurship Challenge (LGEC) at Marshall County High School (MCHS) on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. (CDT). Lt. Governor Hampton will also present the Champion trophy to Principal Patricia Greer and the 2018 LGEC winning team from MCHS, Bluegrass VR, comprised of Claire Harmon, Daniel Sills and advisor Lisa Devillez. Bluegrass VR split $50,000 in scholarship funds that can be used at any Kentucky-based post-secondary institution. This year’s trophy includes a dedication to the memory of students Preston Cope and Bailey Holt.
The LGEC is a business pitch competition open to all Kentucky high school students, grades 9-12. Teams of 2-4 students may register to compete by December 3, 2018.
