Mrs. Anna Louise Melton, age 80, of Murray, Kentucky died Monday, June 11, 2018 at Alive Hospice, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Melton was born February 20, 1938 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to the late Henry Warner West and Hattie Mae Austin West, and was a long time resident of Murray, Kentucky. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty four years, Dwane Melton; and four siblings.
She was a strong independent woman who enjoyed many hobbies. She designed and produced beautiful quilts, and greatly enjoyed playing cards with her fellow residents at Wesley Senior Living Community of Murray. She will be sadly missed by all these cherished neighbors and friends.
She is survived by her children, Kay Rhodes (Eddie), Knoxville, Tennessee, Tammy Melton (Paul Kline), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Anthony Melton (Sherri), Dyersburg, Tennessee; her youngest brother, Donald West (Pamela), Dyersburg, Tennessee; sister in law, Joy Melton; grandchildren, Monica and Samantha; great grandchildren, Matthew, Ethan, Jonathon, Aden, Brandon, and Olivia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be at 2:00pm Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Stahler officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery and friends may visit the family from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Friday and from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
