Day of Prayer observed in Marshall County

On Thursday, about 60 Marshall Countians came out to display their faith and join in on the National Day of Prayer. This year’s event was moved into the Marshall County Fiscal Courtroom after storm clouds rolled into the area during early morning hours.

The following men and women led prayers for areas of our community and nation:

  • Kevin Neal (nation)
  • Bill Morgan (churches)
  • Brad Warning (government)
  • George Cope (military)
  • Chris Freeland (media)
  • Josh Tubbs (businesses)
  • Tiffany Carlson (education system)
  • Amanda Patterson (families)
  • LaDonna Coriell (emergency workers)

Britney Heath served as the day’s keynote speaking, sharing the story of God’s miracle in healing her daughter (see video above). Nathan Pirtle of Benton Church of Christ gave opening and closing prayers, while special guest Shea Nickells led participants in My Old Kentucky Home and the National Anthem.
