McCracken County jailer indicted for alleged reprisal against a public employee

The Kentucky State Police presented its case involving possible violations of the Kentucky Whistleblower Act to a McCracken County Grand Jury on April 13, 2018. The Grand Jury returned a true bill and indicted Tonya D. Ray, 43 of Paducah. The indictment was served on Ray for reprisal against public employee for disclosure of violation of law, a Class “A” misdemeanor.

Ray was served on April 17, 2018 and cited into court on May 1, 2018. According to a state police release, Ray is the McCracken County Jailer. The charges come after Ray fired McCracken County employee David Knight.
