

Bailey Wood signed her national letter of intent Friday to play soccer for Transylvania University. Wood has contributed on the varsity level since her freshman year and was a big part of the Lady Marshals soccer program winning its 17th and 18th regional championships her freshman and senior years. She had a break out year her senior year serving as co-captain while leading the team in scoring and assists with 29 goals and 10 assists.
Wood helped lead the way to the comeback victory in the regional championship by scoring the two goals to tie the game in the last minutes and earning the penalty that won the game. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the regional tournament. Other post-season awards she earned her senior year included: All-District, All-Region 1st team, and All-State Honorable Mention. She was always one of the Lady Marshals’ most creative players on the field and a positive influence in the locker room. She finished her career as a Lady Marshal tied for 12th in scoring with 49 goals.
Wood will play for second-year Head Coach Luis Reis. Transy finished last season with a record of 6-9-3.
