CFS Eagles finish regular season 12-14, best in over two decades

Christian Fellowship finished the regular season 12-14, their best regular season record unofficially in over 20 years. The Eagles won two of their last three games, picking up wins over Fulton City and Dawson Springs and a loss to Murray High. The Eagles have been led in scoring the last three games by senior Brice Etheridge with 40 points.

Etheridge led the way with 13 points in Monday’s 72-37 win over Fulton City with 12 Eagles in the scoring column. Jordan Vaughn added 11 points hitting three of the Eagles nine 3-pointers in the win and Ari Phillips added 10. Emmett Hathaway led Fulton City with 13 points. This was the Eagles highest point total in a win this season.

CFS lost to Murray 71-48 on Tuesday. They were led by three players in double figures, Etheridge and Jesse Covey with 14 each and 11 from Nathaniel Hummel. Charles McCalister led the Tigers with 20 points.

The Eagles trailed by one at the end of the first quarter and eight at halftime, still within reach of the Tigers A  big 46 point second half for Murray stretched their lead out to 16 points going into the fourth quarter on their way to a 33 point win.

The Eagles celebrated Senior Night in their final regular season and home game against Dawson Springs. Etheridge with 13 points and Elijah Toth and Covey each with 11 the scoring for the Eagles. CFS led 29-14 at halftime but Dawson Spring cut it back to 12 points at the end of the third quarter with the Eagles holding on to win by 11 with a 13 point fourth quarter.

CFS is currently playing in the KCAC Tournament in Louisville, winning their first round game 69-42 over Evangel Christian.
