Candlelight vigil held for victims of high school shooting

A time to grieve the loss of two students as well as a show of support for the victims, students, staff and first responders, a large crowd gathered at Mike Miller Park Thursday evening for a candlelight vigil. A community that is hurting, needing a place to come together to support one another following Tuesday’s tragic shooting at Marshall County High School. Songs, prayers and words of encouragement were shared with the hope that the healing can slowly begin.

So many in this small, close-knit community came together at one moment in time Thursday, all feeling the same pain that before Tuesday was unimaginable…unthinkable. Sorrow for the those lost, those injured and the innocence gone in what now becomes our new “normal”.

Sharing a common bond of sorrow and grieve, a tragic event has a way of bringing people together and together they become stronger#marshallstrong
