
Elza Ray Jones, 91, of Benton, died on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton.
Born Monday, Feb. 22, 1926, in Calvert City, he was the son of the late Henry Clay Jones and the late Zettie (Dunigan) Jones. He was the husband of the late Imogene (Drennan) Jones.
He served as a TEC 5 in the Army from 1944 until 1946. He was a member of the Briensburg Masonic Lodge No. 401 and a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He retired from SKW in Calvert City where he worked in maintenance.
He is survived by son, William Keith Jones of Evansville, Ind.; daughter, Lynesa Warren (Johnny) of Benton; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Troy Ray Jones, and sister, Joette Driskill.
A Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, at Briensburg Cemetery, Rev. Kim Morrison officiating. Interment will follow.
Collier Funeral Home in Benton is in charge of arrangements.
No public visitation is scheduled.
