Calvert City man arrested on suspicion of trafficking meth

A local man is facing charges after police allegedly discovered materials used in the distribution of methamphetamine.

According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, investigators with the Marshall and McCracken County drug units executed a search warrant Friday, Jan. 5 at 639 Retirement Circle in Calvert City. Detectives say the search yielded about 7 grams of meth, marijuana, digital scales, packaging materials, paraphernalia and more than $2,400 in cash at the home.

Police arrested Rodney C. Freeman, 52, of Calvert City, in connection to the incident. Freeman, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant in McCracken County, was charged on suspicion of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, more than 2 grams (methamphetamine); possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Freeman was taken to Marshall County Detention Center. Bond had not yet been set as of 2:15 p.m. Friday.
