Mrs. Opal Pearl Evans, 91, of Monroe, Ohio, formerly of Calvert City, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at the Hamilton Hospice, Hamilton, Ohio.

Born Sunday, July 11, 1926, in Pittsburg she was the daughter of the late Robert V. Mathis and the late Mae (Dunaway) Mathis. She was the wife of 74 years to the late Walter Russell Evans.

She was a Homemaker and was a Postmaster for community of Pittsburg. She was a member of Monroe Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Susan Lampley, husband Danny of Cadiz; her son, Robert Evans, wife Deborah of Versailles; also surviving are five grandchildren, Lara Hunter, Evan Lampley, Arron Lampley, Catherine Chaton, Jennifer Evans and two great-grandchildren, Kaisan and Emma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandson, Ryan Paul Evans.

A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2107, at the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens in Benton. Interment will follow the service.

No public visitation is scheduled.
