NWS: Elevated fire risk today for the region

The combination today of dry vegetation, low humidity and gusty winds more than 20 mph bring an elevated risk of fire today to the region, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Officials warn resident to avoid outdoor burning Tuesday, Nov. 28 when embers could blow into dry fields and spread fire quickly out of control.

Winds will decrease considerably tonight and humidity will increase, which will greatly decrease the fire risk. Rain showers are expected to arrive in the area on Wednesday night and Thursday.
