A theatening post on social media has led to concern from some Marshall County students and parents.
Marshall County Schools Superintendent Trent Lovett said Tuesday morning that there was no cause for concern at Marshall County High School. Lovett said in the statement that several students had seen the post — in which the user threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot anyone that moved sometime between Monday and Friday at “MCHS” — but that the threat was bogus. What’s more, he said the Instagram threat had been directed at Madison Central High School in Richmond.
The suspected user, a male juvenile who allegedly created an Instagram account under the name molly._.23 during the weekend and followed students, local media and Kentucky State Police and made the threat in the account bio, was arrested Monday. According to a WKYT report, state police is handling the investigation. Charges had not been filed as of Monday night.
