BarkAID 2017 and Unchained Love have partnered to host a one-day fundraising event to benefit Unchained Love.

West Kentucky residents from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, may visit Kut-N-Up Hair Salon at 3415 Lovelaceville Road in Paducah to receive a haircut from master stylist Patrick Lomantini, founder of BarkAID. Lomantini and his team are touring the U.S. and Canada for the sixth year to bring awareness and raise funds for local animal shelters and organizations dedicated to helping animals.

Local stylists will also be available; the first 100 participants to get a haircut will receive a free T-shirt.

Adoptable pets will be on site during the event, and microchipping services will be available for $20. Microchipping includes free lifetime updates.

The event will also include dog nail grooming, games, food truck vendors, raffle items and more.

Funds generated during the event will go toward Unchained Love, a nonprofit organization seeking to pull rescue dogs scheduled to be euthanized from shelters and place them with new adopted families. The group also works toward ending breed specific legislation and advocates for pit bulls, in particular.
