Mr. Johnny Dale “Buck” Beard, age 78 of Hardin, KY passed away Friday, June 30,
2017, at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, KY. Born Thursday, February 23, 1939 in
Marshall Co., KY, he was a member of Hardin Church of Christ and was retired from
the Marshall County Refuse District and was a self-employed auto technician.
Mr. Beard is survived by his wife Sue Travis Beard of Hardin, KY; sons, Kelvin Beard
of Benton, KY and Michael Darnall of Hardin, KY; daughter, Barbara Dunn of
Chickamauga, GA; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in by his sister, Rebecca Gilliam. His parents were the late John
and Sallie (Watkins) Beard.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, July 3, 2017 in the chapel of
Collier Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe Daryl Thorn officiating. Burial will follow in
Benton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, July
3, 2017 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th St., Benton, KY 42025.
