Benton Police are looking for information related to what investigators believe was an arson that took place this weekend.
According to BPD, police and firefighters from Benton Fire Department and West Marshall Fire Department responded about 8:30 p.m. Saturday to a house fire at 195 Deerwood Lane. Preliminary investigation of the home – which stood vacant – prompted officials to notify the state fire marshal.
State officials determined during a Monday morning investigation that the fire had been deliberately set.
The Kentucky State Arson Task Force has offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment of responsible parties. To report information in the incident, call 1-800-27-ARSON.
