SHERIFF’S REPORT: June 26, 2017
On June 23, Deputy Luke Rudd investigated a theft. Benjamin C. Strait age 39 of Benton had his mobile phone stolen from his office at Merit Electric. The case remains under investigation.
On June 25 at 11:57 p.m., Deputy Josh Anderson was patrolling KY 282 in Gilbertsville when he was waved down by a man wanting a ride. Further investigation revealed that the man was intoxicated and Deputy Anderson observed that the man was drinking beer when he waved him down. Derek J. Darnall, 30, of Benton was arrested and charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
