LINDA CAROLE DiLAURA 67 of Benton, Kentucky, originally of Charleston, SC passed away at 6:57AM Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Lourdes Hospital after fighting Parkinson’s for eleven years.
Linda was formerly a security officer and fireman for Coleman Security Firm from 1969 to 1974; she was the first female officer to be trained by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division in Columbia South Carolina in 1974. She was an undercover agent for the FBI from 1975 to 1976 and a nuclear security officer and sergeant at Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company from 1977-1981. She was also accepted by the Connecticut State Police.
She was a loving wife of her husband of 38 years, Richard DiLaura Sr of Benton, KY; her two daughters, Tammy DiLaura of Benton, KY and Carrie Ann Sanders of Paducah, KY; her son, Richard DiLaura, Jr of Knox, ME; and five grandchildren; Kayla DiLaura of Knox, ME; Cassidy Violette of Knox, ME; Sara Stewart of Benton, KY; Lara Chambliss of Paducah, KY and Devin Chambliss of Paducah, KY.
She is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Her parents were John Carter and Sara Frances Hilley Carter.
