Florence Tomsic

Flo TomsicFlorence Marie (Gaus) Tomsic "Flo", long time resident of Calvert City, formerly of
Louisville, KY, passed from this life to be with the Lord and be reunited with her
dear husband Frank on December 22, 2016 at her home.

Flo was a member of Calvert City Community Church, formerly the First Presbyterian
Church of Calvert, since 1953, being church elder, church historian, and choir
member for many years, always present to help when there was a need. She was loving
and caring for family and friends and to those who knew her. A devoted and loving
wife to her deceased husband, Frank G. Tomsic for over 72 years. She was a member of
the past Calvert City Women's Club and Republican Women's Club and was active in
helping Frank in forming the first organized Little League Baseball Program in
Calvert City for youth. She was a Cub Scout Den mother, past president of the
American Legion Auxiliary Post 236 in Calvert. She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge,
growing veggies, and flowers, and taking part in bible study at church.

Surviving are sons, Frank G. Tomsic Jr. of Calvert City, KY and James R. Tomsic of
Michigan, sister, Leona Spink of Louisville, KY, grandchildren, Terri Shivervarre,
husband Ed of Monroe, MI, Paula Tomsic of Monroe, MI, Casey Tomsic of Kissimmee, FL,
Cara Hadley, husband Billy of Paducah, KY, 6 great-grandchildren, many special
nieces and nephews and friends, and one special daughter, Shelly Seprodi.

Her deceased parents were John and Emma Gaus, deceased brothers, John Gaus Jr. and
Clarence Gaus all of Louisville.

At Flo's request, no visitation is scheduled, but all family and friends are invited
to the Graveside Memorial service on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at
Calvert City Cemetery, Calvert City, KY, Rev. Adele Ambler officiating. Entombment
will follow.
