Ms. Jimmie Sue Mathis, age 64 of Benton, KY died on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at her home. She was a member of Family Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Benton High School, Freed Hardeman College and Harding College. She was a former city clerk for the City of Hardin and worked for over 20 years in the business department of a Medical Practice. Born Monday, September 29, 1952 in Benton, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Perry Mathis and the late Estie Maxine (Hayden) Mathis. Surviving is her brother, Johnny Mathis, wife Melody of Almo, KY. A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Charlie Cates officiating. Interment will follow in Strow Cemetery, Benton, KY. Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home.
