Mrs. Gina Renae Swacker, age 60 of Arlington, TN, formerly of Benton, KY, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was a retired elementary teacher serving the Marshall County Board of Education for 29 years. She taught one year at Jonathan Elementary then at South Marshall Elementary until her retirement. She was a graduate of Benton High School, a graduate of Murray State University where she received a Bachelors, Masters and had obtained her 30 hours above a Masters degree. She was a member of the Kentucky Educators Association and a Kentucky Colonel. She was a member of the Benton First United Methodist Church, Benton, KY. Surviving are her husband, Jim Swacker of Arlington, TN, her mother, Marilyn (Chester) Creason, Benton, KY, two sons, Trey Swacker, wife Kim Kiernan of Simsbury, CT and Jay Paul Swacker, wife Ruthie of Lexington, KY, one brother, Kerry Creason of Benton, KY, and one sister, Janesa Creason of Elizabethtown, KY, four grandchildren, Riley Swacker, Grady Swacker and Ellie Swacker all of Simsbury, CT, Otis Swacker of Lexington, KY. She was preceded in death by her father, Coy Brooks Creason and her sister, Keela Creason. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Collier Funeral Chapel, Benton, KY. Rev. David Atkinson will officiate. Interment follow at a later date in the Cole Cemetery, Benton, KY. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2016, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
