The Calvert City Lions Club will again sponsor the annual “longest continuous running” Christmas parade in Kentucky. This is year #57, and will take place Saturday, December 3, 2016.
The lighted parade participants will line up in the parking lot of Pathway Baptist Church beginning at 4:15 p.m. Between 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. floats will be judged and cash prizes awarded. The parade will step off at 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Main Street and will continue along 5th Avenue to Memorial Park, led by Grand Marshall Sue Draffen.
The theme of this year’s parade is “Songs of Christmas”. Following the parade, floats will be exhibited in Memorial Park where hot dogs, popcorn, and hot chocolate will be served to the public and the annual Christmas tree lighting will be held. Santa will also be available for visits at Memorial Park and children may also visit with our newest addition Merry, the Christmas Fairy.
