CALVERT CITY – Marshall County’s girl’s golf team is headed back to the KHSAA State Golf Championships. The team finished runner-up to McCracken County who took the First Region title with 345 followed by the Lady Marshals with 351.
The state tournament takes place October 3-5 at Bowling Green Country Club.
McCracken County scoring came from Ryan Lee with 79, Allison Hane 87, Jessica Stephens 87 and Carley Beatty 92. Marshall County was led by Hallie Riley with 80, Savannah Howell 84, Karissa Jordan 92 and Megan Hertter 95.
Four qualified for the state tournament as individuals including Mayfield’s Devany Cope who shot 74 to win the First Region individual title, Sarah McDowell of Murray shot 78, St. Mary’s Margaret Butts 79 and Lauren Gilchrist of Crittenden County with 82.
Christian Fellowship’s Maddie Ortt placed 11th with a score of 86.
