LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES, KY/TN – September 13, 2016 – In celebration of National Public Lands Day, volunteers are needed for a trail clean-up and work day on Saturday, September 24, from 9am-12:30pm at Wranglers Campground in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Call 270-924-2007, email volunteer@friendsoflbl.org, or sign up at Wranglers Campground.
“Volunteering is a great way to give back to your National Public Lands,” says Emily Cleaver, Volunteer Coordinator with Friends of Land Between the Lakes. “It’s a fun way to get outside, socialize, meet new people, and help maintain some of our most used trails.”
Volunteers will need to bring their own water and snacks. Bug spray, garbage bags, lunch, and additional water will be provided by Friends of Land Between the Lakes. Volunteers may bring horses, mules, and wagons, although they are not required.
After a morning of trail work, visit the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm where admission is free in honor of National Public Lands Day.
