Mr. Jonathan "Jon" Lee Gilbert, age 53 of Fairdealing, KY died on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Manor Court of Carbondale in Carbondale, IL. Born Friday, February 8, 1963 in Detroit, MI, he was a member of the IBEW Local 816; a teacher with NJATC and a Kentucky Colonel. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Gilbert is survived by his son Austin Black of Carterville, IL; son Jason Gilbert and his wife Kelsey of Calvert City, KY; grandson Jaxon Gilbert of Calvert City, KY; fiancé Betty Black of Carterville, IL; Jillian Minor and her husband Bobby of Carterville, IL; Lindsay Rawls of Carterville, IL; brother William Gilbert and his wife Joanne of Seattle, WA and sister Carlotta Crosby of Hersey, PA. Mr. Gilbert was preceded in death by his brother Tim Gilbert. His parents were the late Bill and Margaret (Weatherholt) Gilbert. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday September 11, 2016 in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Short officiating Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Saturday September 10, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th Street, Benton, KY 42025. Burial with Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday September 12, 2016 at Oakwood Cemetery in Carterville, IL with Rev. Jeff Wiggs officiating.
