Lois Lunell (Birdsong) Van Vactor, age 89, of Calvert City, Kentucky, died August 29, 2016 at 10:14AM at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah, Kentucky. She was a charter member of Christian Fellowship in Briensburg, Kentucky. Mrs. Van Vactor is survived by four sons: Darrell VanVactor, wife Stacie of Benton; Dr. Dwain Van Vactor, wife Amanda of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Lynn Van Vactor, wife Debbie of Possum Trot; Dale VanVactor of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Darrin VanVactor, Brian Van Vactor, Macayla Jennings, Zack Van Vactor, Jenista Magness, great grandchildren: Darrik Van Vactor, Halee VanVactor, Kameron VanVactor, Preston VanVactor, Gunner Magness, Taylor Magness, Greyson Jennings, and great great granddaughter: Landon VanVactor. She was preceded in death by husband of 61 years, James Lester Van Vactor and was the daughter of the late Reverend Kelly and Virgie (Harris) Birdsong and was preceded in death by sisters: Lela Mae Redfern, Helen Noles, June Baize, and brother: John Boyce Birdsong. She had an extensive church family and friends that were very special to her; many that called her ‘Mama' and were identified as ‘adopted' sons and daughters. Likewise, she had a very close relationship with her nieces. Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY. Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 11:00AM Thursday, September 1, 2016, Dr. J.T. Parish officiating. Interment will be at Dees Cemetery, Calvert City, Kentucky.
