Whitfield Announces Federal Grant to Marshall County Fire Department

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield (KY-01) is pleased to announce a
$38,926 Operations and Safety grant for the South Marshall Fire Department in
Benton.  The award, from the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to
Firefighters Grant Program, will provide funds that can be used for professional
training, wellness and fitness programs equipment, personal protective equipment,
modifications to facilities, and supplies that support firefighting and
non-affiliated EMS operations and safety.

"I am pleased to see the South Marshall Fire Department receive this important
federal grant," Whitfield said.  "These resources will enhance service during
emergency conditions within Marshall County and assist the neighboring region as
well."

The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency
administers this program in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.  More
