Leadership Marshall County is extending the deadline for application into the 2016-2017 program until July 29, 2016. With the craziness of Summer it was realized that many people are out of pocket and may have missed the initial invitation to apply for this educational program sponsored by the Kentucky Lake Chamber of Commerce which is designed to develop the present and future leadership potential existing in our community.
The Leadership Marshall County program will start with a full day retreat in September and run until Graduation which is scheduled for June. Each monthly full day session, held on the third Wednesday of each month, will provide an in-depth look at topics such as law/corrections, healthcare, government, tourism, economic development, agriculture, transportation and education as it pertains to Marshall County and our area. There is also a trip to Frankfort planned for February in which the class will observe state government in action and tour the capitol.
Fifteen participants will be chosen. Applicants for the program must be 21 years of age or older and either live or work in Marshall County. An application can be obtained from the Chamber office, on their website at www.marshallcounty.net or call 270-527-7665 and one can be mailed or emailed to you. Applications are now due to the Chamber by July 29, 2016. There is a one-time $500 tuition fee for the program which will cover materials, meals, activities, lodging and transportation. Also, a partial scholarship will be available. The tuition fee does not need to accompany the application. That will be billed after the selection of participants has been made.
Leadership Marshall County provides a great amount of information and insight into the inter-workings of our community, plus you will develop relationships with other participants and other leaders in our community that could last years into the future, so check with your employer and then get your application in today!
