CATHERINE JOYCE HIGHBAUGH, 77, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away at 8:15PM Friday, June 24, 2016 at Baptist Health Paducah.
Catherine was an avid quilter and a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived two daughters, Teresa Smith and her husband Wayne of Benton, KY and Debra Sloan of Elkhart, IN; four sons, Mark Anthony Highbaugh and his wife Melissa of Upton, KY, Michael Scott Highbaugh and his wife Melissa of Cordyn, IN, Dempsey “Tuck” Highbaugh, Jr. of Jones, MI and Kenny Highbaugh of Elkhart, IN; three sisters, Alma Thomas of Cassville, WV, Anna May Pastor and Ida Jane Reese both of Lenoir, NC; twenty grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey Highbaugh; one son, Stephen Highbaugh; and one brother, Charles Miller. Her parents were Benjamin Claude Miller and Erma Reed Miller Owens.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00PM (CST) on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Bro. Rodney Wallace will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2:00PM (EST) on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Elizabethtown, Kentucky where burial will follow. The family will receive friends after 5:00PM (CST) on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
