Carl Edison Barrett, 88 of Possum Trot, Kentucky, passed away at 11:30 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016 at his home surrounded by his wife and 3 children. Carl was born May 26, 1928 in Gilbertsville, KY. He was an electrician and a 66 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #816. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Manda "Lucille" Cope Barrett; 2 sons, Carl Eugene "Gene" Barrett, wife Sunetta Tucker Barrett of Calvert City, KY, Eddie "Dean" Barrett, wife Connie Manley Barrett of Benton, KY, daughter, Gloria Jane Barrett Watkins, husband Ronnie of Paducah, KY, grandchildren, Joel Kent Barrett, wife Andrea, Kirkland Barrett, Jessica Duncan Housman, husband Kevin, Deana Barrett May, Penny Duncan Bivens, husband Tim, Beau Gentry Edison Barrett, and Amanda "Mandy" Sue Barrett; and one step-daughter, Jennifer Brewer. Great grandchildren surviving are, Isabella Barrett, Elizabeth Barrett, Benjamin Barrett, Trey Thomas, Trevor Thomas, Tanner Thomas, Carlee May, Travis May, Quentin Warren, Cheyenne Toon, Trinity Bivens, Jeslyn Bivens, Jackson Cain, Annabelle Cain, Brook and Blake Housman, Branson Waldridge and Natalee Webb. Six step great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, Bentley May; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Kirkland and Maude Jones Barrett, step-mother, Ethel Lee Barrett, all of his siblings, brothers, Thomas Barrett and Leroy "Bud" Barrett; sisters, Blondia Barrett Clark, Maymie Barrett Hamilton, Myrtle "Doodsie" Barrett Ricks, Essie Barrett Butler, and one grandson-in-law, Christopher May. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025, Joel Frizzell and Leland "Skippy" Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Fooks Cemetery, Benton, KY. Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home.
