EDWARD POE , 83, of Benton, KY, passed away at 10:10PM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Lourdes Hospital.
Edward was an electrician and 60 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #816. He was a member of the North Marshall Church of Christ where he had served as an elder.
He is survived by one daughter, Jana Poe Barrett and her husband Keith of Benton, KY; two sons, James Edward “Eddie” Poe and his wife Nina of Benton, KY and Jeffery Lane Poe of Huntsville, AL; one brother, Edwin Poe and his wife Phil of Benton, KY; five grandchildren, Jonathan Poe and his wife Stacy, Katherine Poe Stevenson and her husband Shane, Justin Barrett and his wife Megan, Brent Barrett and his wife Michelle and Todd Barrett and his wife Lisa; and eight great grandchildren, Katelyn Stevenson, Hannah Poe, Tyler Stevenson, Emma Poe, Isaac Stevenson, Hudson Poe, Zoa Barrett and Grayson Barrett.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife of almost 65 years, Margaret Jane Austin Poe; one sister, Martha Poe Egner; and two brothers, James Ronald Poe and Buddy Poe. His parents were Ervin Franklin Poe and Myrtie (Peck) Poe.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, June 3, 2016 at North Marshall Church of Christ. Jack Phillips will officiate and burial will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until the funeral hour on Friday, June 3, 2016 at North Marshall Church of Christ. Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
