Mrs. Lillis C. Lawson, age 91 of Benton, KY died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Benton First United Methodist Church and was retired from The Gleaner in Henderson, KY where she worked as a bookkeeper. Born Thursday, March 12, 1925 in Carthage, MO, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Margaret (McGary) Hatcher. Surviving are son, John K. Lawson of Benton, KY, daughters, Dr. Diane Lawson-Martinez of San Antonio, TX and Dr. Gail Hecht of LaGrange, IL; and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents several brothers and sisters and her husband, LeRoy "Roy" Lawson. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Dr. David Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery, Henderson, KY. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home.
