Mr. Billy Mason "Bill" Futrell, age 79 of Benton, KY, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 7:08 p.m. at his home. Born between the rivers in the Model community on Thursday, July 2, 1936, in Trigg Co., KY he was the son of the late Walter A. Futrell and the late Ruby May (Henson) Futrell. He was a life long Farmer and Cattlemen. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a member at the Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Sharon (Whitford) Futrell of Benton, KY, one daughter, Melanie Thompson of Benton, KY, two sons, Jeff Futrell of Benton, KY and Scott Futrell of Benton, KY, brother, Dempsey Futrell of Benton, KY. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Lauren Thompson, Reanna Hargrove, Brittney Futrell, Savannah Futrell, Leanndra Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Preston Futrell and Owen Futrell, one great-grandchild, Luca Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Van Layton Futrell, and one sister, Grace Myrle Howard, one granddaughter, Kara Futrell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benon, KY. Rev. Todd Dotson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow the service in the Price Cemetery, Benton, KY. Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, May 23, 2016, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
