Mr. Myrl "Dink" York, age 88 of Benton, KY passed away Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY. He was retired from Pittsburgh Metallurgical. He was a member of Hamlet Baptist Church and a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Army. Born Wednesday, November 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Amos York and the late Lena (Hill) York. Surviving are his two sons, Larry York of Benton, KY and Matt York of Benton, KY, three brothers, Holland York of Symsonia, KY, Ed York of Olive, KY, and Bob York of Olive, KY, five sisters, Molene Rudd of Fairdealing, KY, Katherine Frizzell of Olive, KY, Lorene Barnes of Harvey, KY, Rosemary Todd of Kirksey, KY and Martha Nell Conner of Fairdealing, KY, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of over 50 years, Geneva (Ross) York, daughter, Tina York, four brothers, James York, Paul York, Reece "Mutt" York, Guy "Red" York and Don York one sister, Lola Jackson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Rev. Jack Studie officiating. Interment with military honors will follow the service in the Hamlet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Masonic rites will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. The public is invited to attend.
