Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department have been investigating William Reason for theft by deception charges throughout McCracken County.
Between December 9, 2015 and January 8, 2016, William Reason purchased merchandise at local businesses throughout McCracken County with personal checks, knowing there wouldn’t be sufficient funds in his account.
Reason purchased merchandise on three occasions with checks amounting over $500 per check. All the checks totaled $1850.63.

In addition to the above checks, Reason purchased merchandise with the personal checks on eight other occasions, all amounting to less than $500 per check. All the checks under $500 totaled $2317.29.

Total charges made by Reason totaled $4167.92. It is believed Reason may have made additional charges throughout other local counties, which totaled thousands.
On this date, Reason, who was already incarcerated in the Marshall County KY Jail, was served warrants containing the above mentioned charges, by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

Charges: 1) Three counts of Theft by Deception Over $500 (Class D Felonies)
2) Eight Counts of Theft by Deception under $500 (Class A Misdemeanors)
