Lonny Carey, age 83 of Gilbertsville, KY died on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in Grand
Rivers, KY. He was retired from Texas Southmost College where he taught HVAC
classes. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and he was a 4th
degree Knight of Columbus.
He was born Tuesday, September 20, 1932 in Holly, CO to the late Daniel Arthur Gray
and Carolina (Wort) Gray.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Maria Elena (Treto) Carey of Gilbertsville, KY;
son, Juan Carey of Nashville, TN, daughters, Rocio Carey of Gilbertsville, KY,
Guadalupe "Lupita" Holifield of Paducah, KY and Teresa Carey of Salem, OR, brothers,
Gregory Gray of Denver, CO and Paul Gray of Memphis, TN, sisters, Velma Gray of
Denver, CO, Ruth Thomasson of Bowling Green, KY and grandchild, Montana Holifield of
Paducah, KY.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at St. Anthony
of Padua with Father Anthoni Ottagan officiating.
Interment will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
March 22, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025. The
Knights of Columbus will host the rosary service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Collier
Funeral Home.
