Charles Edward Lofton, age 94 of Benton, KY died on Monday, March 21, 2016, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, Kentucky. He was a retired self-employed farmer and plumber and a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Born Friday, June 24, 1921 in Marshall County, KY, he was the son of the late Louie Lofton and the late Rosa (York) Copeland. Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Mildred (Norsworthy) Lofton of Benton, KY; sons, Roger Edward Lofton, wife Jerlene of Arkada, FL and Randy Phillip Lofton, wife Sandy of Brookport, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James Lofton and Clatus Copeland, and sisters, Lillian Jones and Nell Houser. Funeral service will be held at Collier Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. C.C. Brasher and Bro. Rodney Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in New Zion Cemetery, Benton, KY. Visitation will be held between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home.
