A Hardin man charged with abuse of an adult and 12 counts of sodomy waived his right to have his case heard by a judge Wednesday.
The case of 51-year-old John Norwood now goes before a grand jury.
During a court appearance on Wednesday afternoon in Marshall County, a public defender asked for a reduction to Norwood’s $250,000 bond.
An investigation last month led to Norwood’s arrest on charges including sodomy of a person who is incapable of consent or physically helpless, abusing an adult and tampering with evidence.
Judge Jack Telle did not reduce the bond.
Norwood has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The investigation into this case is open.
Evidence will be reviewed by a grand jury, which meets again on April 12.
