Lady Eagles, Eagles finish season at the KCAC State Tournament

COVINGTON  – Christian Fellowship’s boy’s and girl’s basketball teams wrapped up their 2015-2016 season on Saturday at the KCAC State Tournament held at Calvary Christian. The Lady Eagles won their semi-final game 41-20 over Heritage Christian and fell to Covington Latin 33-18 in the Championship game.

The Eagles lost on Friday to Portland Christian 75-66, ending their season 6-22, their best record since the 2002-2003 season. The Lady Eagles finished the season with a 4-15 record.

Brice Etheridge led the Eagles with 26 points against Portland Christian. Etheridge also led Christian Fellowship with 20 points in their 68-49 loss to Dawson Springs on Thursday in their final regular season game. CFS trailed Portland Christian 59-30 at the end of the 3rd quarter and scored 36 points in the final quarter to loss by just 9 points.

Etheridge was selected to the All-Tournament Team. Calvary Christian won the KCAC Championship game 79-52 over Covington Latin.

Amber Shelley led the Lady Eagles with 24 points in their semi-final win over Heritage Academy and Tristen Sanders and Maddie Ortt led with 8 points in their Championship game loss to Covington Latin.  Shelley and Sanders were selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Shelley scored 32 of the Lady Eagles 37 points on Thursday in their 51-37 loss to Dawson Springs.
