A speeding car stopped in Marshall County Wednesday resulted in numerous charges against the driver.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s office, at 11:41am Wednesday, a deputy observed a car travelling at over 100 mph in the area of South Marshall Elementary School. As the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle reportedly ran a red light at Highway 641 and South Main, left the road, and then came back on the roadway toward the deputy.
Police said 23-year-old Emanuel Joseph Baker of Bowling Green was charged with speeding, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment of a police officer and other offenses. A search of his vehicle found marijuana, scales, bags, oxycodone, xanax, and other items. Over $2000 in cash was seized in the arrest.
Baker was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
