BENTON – [VIDEO FOLLOW REPORT] Marshall County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
Tim York, Marshall County Clerk, presented his Annual Settlement for 2015. For the year 2015, they took in $9,761,870.48, dispersed $9,544,593.02 which leaves excess fees of $217,277.46. According to York revenues were up about $350,000 over the previous year.
CORRESPONDENCE
Judge/Executive Kevin Neal read a letter from Parks Director Larry Whitt stating his resignation effective Tuesday, February 16th.
NEW BUSINESS
World Bowfishing Championship
Five bowfishing tournaments will take place out of the Aurora Jonathon Visitor’s Center this year with the first one taking place on March 19-20. Aurora will host the World Bowfishing Tournament on April 16-17. Commissioner Bob Gold proposed that the court sponsor the World Bowfishing Tournament with a $500 donation which the court approved.
Sheriff’s Office 2015 Fee Settlement
Receipts for 2015 totaled $1,941,247.78, disbursements of $1,730,738.91 and excess fees of $210,508.87. Sheriff Byars presented the court a check which zeros out their balance for 2015. The settlement was approved by the court.

For the month of January, total revenues were $8,352.96.
2016 Cost of Living Increase for Elected Officials
The court approved a Cost of Living increase for elected officials of .7295%. This increase is for the County Judge, Jailor, Sheriff and Clerk and is usually passed along to all elected officials.
Budget Amendment Ordinance 1st Reading
County Treasurer Emily Martin read the 1st Reading which the court approved.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
Animal Shelter employee Kip Hutchinson was terminated for policy violations. Eight applicants were received for the Assistant Animal Shelter position. The court approved the hire of Jonathan Smith to that position.
The court approved to allow Judge/Executive Kevin Neal to sign a letter from Shelton & Hite, PLLC regarding Agreed Upon Procedures.
