Mrs. Dona L. Salyers, age 76, of Benton, KY passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. Born Monday, October 23, 1939 in Detroit, MI, she was a member of Altona Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a caregiver to many families. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting. Mrs. Salyers is survived by her sons, Brad Salyers and wife Pam of Symsonia, KY, Nathan Salyers and wife DeAnna of Griggstown, KY and David Salyers wife Carolyn of Calvert City, KY, brother, Jackie L. Bloodworth of Benton, KY, sisters, Linda Joyce Gipson of Benton, KY, Karen Harrington of Benton, KY, Sally Bloodworth of Paducah, KY and Sandra Cross of Chattanooga, TN; seven grandchildren, Zane Salyers, Isaiah Salyers, Bryan Salyers, Kyle Salyers, Samantha Smith, Brooke Salyers and Pierson Salyers; and five great-grandchildren, Zoe Salyers, Alex Salyers, Rachel Fridley, Sydney Fridley and Lillian Welding. Mrs. Salyers was preceded in death by her husband William Jackson "W.J." Salyers, brothers, Henry "Hank" Bloodworth and Harry Bloodworth. Her parents were the late Harvey Jewell and Ida Lucille "Teenie" Davis Bloodworth. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 1, 2016 in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home, with Rev. Roger Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Salyers Cemetery, Benton, KY. Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Sunday January 31, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th Street, Benton, KY.
